Numerical investigation on formation mechanism and flow law of droplet in T-junction by electric field

The mechanism of constant electric field regulation on droplet formation in a T-junction microchannel is investigated numerically, and the law discrete phase fluid behavior different viscosity systems summarized. This research develops two-phase-electrohydrodynamic solver OpenFOAM® framework. uses leaky medium model to simulate microfluidic system volume method trace interface. It found that generation within can be divided into squeeze shear effect, where will have transition under influence field. Additionally, effect significantly influenced by continuous fluid. At low viscosity, length affected wall resistance undergo sudden changes at certain strength, but mutation decrease disappear with increase viscosity. high droplets significant agglomeration interaction force viscous shear. Then, regulating flow pattern an ultra-high also studied. Finally, map proposed adequately describes variation strength viscosities.
